Rory is our first Havanese and has sired several of our litters. He is now 9 years old, and whilst fully fertile still, he is likely not to sire any further litters, as we feel it is time for him to retire. We do have some of Rory’s semen frozen if we need it in future.

DOGS IN OUR BREEDING PROGRAMME OWNED BY FRIENDS
We have some Havanese whom we have bred or owned who live with friends. The dogs’ welfare for Havanese shouldn’t live in a very large pack. This creates a challenge for us as breeders, as we want to be able to keep dogs to develop our bloodlines, but this is not always practical. Hence, we have some breeding dogs that are owned by friends but that are part of our breeding programme. We also have a couple of neutered dogs from our breeding programme, who are living in pet homes. We do not always re-home retired breeding dogs, but in some cases the dog suits a smaller pack, as was the case with Rio and Candy below.

Rio is a beautiful Havanese boy whom we imported from France. He has a wonderful temperament but did find living in a house with another entire male difficult. He loves the outdoor life, so now has retired as a neuter to a couple who live at a smallholding.
Rio is the sire of Star and Oscar.
